Johannesburg Johannesburg, GautengSophie de Bruyn was one of the last surviving leaders of the 1956 Women's March to the Union Buildings in Pretoria. She was a founding member of the Federation of South African Women and dedicated her life to fighting for women's rights and against apartheid. Her activism began as a teenager and continued throughout her life.
